Lenzing Breaks Ground in Thailand

World's largest lyocell plant scheduled to be complete in 2021

Lenzing has started construction on the largest lycell facility in the world in Prachinburi, Thailand. The new plant will be able to make 100,000 tons of the specialty fibers per year and will strengthen the company’s market position in Asia. The initial investment for the first line will be €400 million and ultimately as many as three more lines could be built on the site.

The new site, which is the company’s first step in bringing lyocell production to Asia, home to the largest markets, important customers and extensive growth potential, is scheduled to be complete in the third quarter of 2021.
